Job summary

The Rivers Secondary College, Richmond River High Campus, seeks a full-time School Psychologist to join the school counselling service. You will provide counselling and psychological assessments to students, and collaborate with teachers, families and external agencies to strengthen learning and wellbeing outcomes.

Qualifications

• General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Valid Working with Children Check clearance (WWCC) — NSW
• Current and valid driver’s licence with ability to travel between work sites.

Responsibilities

• Provides counselling and psychological services to students, individually and in groups.
• Engages with and implements the Professional Practice Framework for the NSW School Counselling Service.
• Works with the principal and staff to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
• Contributes to the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
• Administers cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments and reports results.
• Collaborates with families, parents and other agencies to develop school-based support.
• Responds as part of a team to assist schools experiencing serious incidents.
• Refers students and/or families to external services for health and wellbeing support.
