Heartland AEA is seeking School Psychologists for the 2027–28 school year in central Iowa. The role includes delivering psychological services to support academic and mental health, collaborating with districts, families, and community partners, and contributing to RtI/MTSS decisions.

We offer a NASP-recognized program, a 192-day working contract, and a two-year onboarding/induction plus opportunities to pursue various career paths. Interns are full-time employees with benefits.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Professional Service License (or eligibility) through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners
• Education: Post-master’s level training in an approved School Psychology program (specialist degree or master’s + 30 preferred)

• Collaborate with educators, families, and community partners to support individualized learning and behavioral plans

Heartland AEA supports 58 public school districts, 58 accredited nonpublic schools, and 3 charter schools. Our service area includes the Des Moines metro area and other communities in central Iowa serving more than 150,000 students.
