Job summary

Robbinsdale Area Schools is seeking a Program Assistant for Cooper High School. The role includes facilitating educational programming for students with disabilities and supporting the PAES Lab, with driving duties to Cooper High School across district sites.

Requires DOT certification, van driving training, and strong communication skills. 186-day calendar, 8:00–4:30 schedule, reports to the Director of Student Services/Special Education Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience working with adolescents and young adults with disabilities is desired.
• Must be able to obtain Department of Transportation Certificate, including a physical exam.
• Must participate in district van driving training and pass the exam.
• Some post secondary training or an AA or higher preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supports communication and builds positive relationships between students and staff.
• Supports students and staff participating in the PAES Lab.
• Drives students in a school vehicle to/from district sites to Cooper High School.
• Assists in facilitating groups with staff, students and families.
• Other tasks as assigned.
