Job summary

Robbinsdale Area Schools in Minnesota seeks a Program Assistant to support Cooper High School's educational programming for students with disabilities, including behavioral and personal care needs. The role centers on PAES Lab support and transporting students between district sites.

The position reports to the Assistant Director of Student Services and Special Education Supervisor, with hours 8:00–4:30 and an 186-day calendar.

Qualifications

• Some post secondary training, or an AA or Higher preferred but not required
• Must be able to obtain Department of Transportation Certificate, including passing a physical examination
• Experience working with adolescents and young adults, including students with disabilities, in an educational or community setting desired
• Must participate in district training for van driving certification and pass exam
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Effective communication and human relations skills
• Able to attend work regularly and report to work in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Supports communication and builds positive relationships between students and building staff
• Supports students and staff participating in the Paes Lab.
• Works under the supervision of Director of Student Services, Special Education Supervisor and Building Coordinator.
• Drives students in a school vehicle to/from district sites to Cooper High School
• Assists in facilitating groups with staff, students and families
• Other tasks as assigned.
