Job summary

Northwest Michigan Health Services, Inc. is seeking a seasoned School Program Coordinator to lead operations across our school-based health clinics and ensure high-quality patient care.

In this role you will supervise clinic staff, coordinate staffing and daily workflows across locations, manage grants and reporting, and collaborate with schools and community partners to expand access to healthcare for children and adolescents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Education, Nursing, Social Work, Business Administration, or related field
  • Associate's degree with supervisory and program management experience may be considered
  • Minimum of two years of experience in healthcare, school-based services, youth programming, or related field
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with budgeting, grants, health services, youth programs, and health education preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and support staff across all NMHSI school-based clinic locations
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, workflows, and daily operations to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school districts, families, community organizations, and healthcare partners
  • Ensure compliance with NMHSI policies, grant requirements, MDHHS standards, HIPAA, FERPA, and other applicable regulations
  • Monitor program budgets, work plans, grant deliverables, and required reporting in collaboration with the Finance Department
  • Analyze clinic performance data and patient feedback to support quality improvement initiatives and program growth
  • Coordinate advisory council meetings, MDHHS site visits, and follow-up activities
  • Plan, coordinate, and document health education, prevention, wellness, and community outreach activities
  • Foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and exceptional patient care
  • Perform other duties as assigned

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative School Program Coordinator to lead operations across our school-based health clinics.

About the Role

The School Program Coordinator provides leadership and oversight for NMHSI's school-based health clinic program, ensuring high-quality patient care, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strong partnerships with local schools and community organizations.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Education, Nursing, Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • An Associate's degree combined with relevant supervisory and program management experience may be considered
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare, school-based services, youth programming, or a related field
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with budgeting, grants, health services, youth programs, and health education preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate operations across multiple clinic locations
  • Experience supervising staff, managing competing priorities, and resolving operational challenges
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to analyze program performance and support continuous quality improvement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
