Job summary

The Washoe County School District is seeking a School Police Sergeant to supervise school police officers and oversee law enforcement activities at district properties in Reno, NV. You will coordinate patrols, supervise sworn and non-sworn staff, and participate in internal investigations to ensure training and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities include testimony in court, incident command during emergencies, coordination with Emergency Management, and collaboration with district offices

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; POST certification required.
• Experience: swor n law enforcement with leadership responsibilities.
• Must have CPR and First Aid certification; valid Nevada driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates law enforcement activities and supervise assigned school police officers.
• Testifies in court and conducts internal investigations as required.
• Inspects subordinates, ensures proper training, and maintains security of facilities.
• Coordinates with emergency management and participates in incident command.
• Oversees incidents such as burglary, theft, vandalism, and disturbances.
