Qualifications

• Four years of full-time paid public law enforcement experience, including three years as a Deputy Sheriff with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).
• Valid Nevada driver’s license required at application and maintained for continued employment.
• Nevada Intermediate POST Certificate required at application; Basic POST Certificate as Category I Police Officer required for continued employment.
• POST continuing education requirements must be completed for continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate and supervise personnel assigned to a shift or unit.
• Conduct training and supervise staff in a specialized area; perform related work as assigned.
• Participate in the Sergeant promotional process and maintain compliance with M merit principles and agency needs.
• Adhere to WCSO core policies and collective bargaining agreement provisions.
