Job summary

Homewood-Flossmoor High Community High School is hiring a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to manage payroll, timesheets, benefits enrollment, and reconciliations. The role requires setup of new hires, deduction maintenance, and collaboration across the Business Office.

Responsibilities include benefit deductions reconciliation, pension reporting, and cross-training to support all clerical payroll functions. 12-month calendar, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., located on-site in Illinois.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented and accurate in payroll, benefits, and reconciliations.
• Flexible to adapt to day-to-day process changes and interruptions.
• Strong customer-service skills for internal and external contacts.
• Experience in payroll processing and/or bookkeeping required.
• School business office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support payroll and timesheet processing and benefit administration.
• Set up new hires in payroll system and maintain deductions.
• Reconcile benefits and payroll deductions and prepare reports.
• Act as primary contact for benefit inquiries and timesheet validation.
• Support pension-related analysis and reporting.
• Assist Campus Store during peak periods and cross-train others.
