Job summary

Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy is hiring an Accounting Clerk I in Rhode Island. You will support payroll processing, maintain payroll files, and handle W-2s, benefits, and attendance data for multiple schools.

The role requires 1-2 years of accounting experience, with intermediate Excel skills and familiarity with Sage/MIP Fund accounting. A Bachelor's degree is preferred; RI COA knowledge is a plus. Competitive benefits included.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of professional experience in an accounting type role (e.g., Bookkeeper).
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process payroll bi-weekly.
• Maintain payroll files and staff payroll records.
• Issue W-2s at year-end and reconcile staff absences for payroll purposes.
• Manage enrollments, COBRA, terminations, and garnishments.
• Maintain employee benefits files and payroll documentation.
• Respond to payroll inquiries and support employees on pay-related questions.
