Job summary

Family Service of RI in Providence, RI is seeking an Accounts Payable professional to support the AP team and serve as a back-up to the Accounts Payable Manager. The role involves processing invoices, reconciling accounts and assisting with month-end close.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of AP experience, an accounting certificate or associate degree, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Excel and Great Plains.

Qualifications

• Two years of Accounts Payable experience required.
• Accounting certificate or Associates degree in accounting/finance preferred.
• Strong communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to interact diplomatically with staff.
• Knowledge of automated accounting systems, preferably Great Plains.
• Knowledge of computer applications, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Processes purchase requests.
• Places online orders.
• Processes vendor invoices.
• Scans and saves vendor invoices and purchase requests electronically.
• Assists with weekly disbursement check run.
• Assists with annual 1099 reporting.
• Assists and/or processes employee travel and miscellaneous reimbursements.
• Assists with reconciling vendor accounts.
• Assists with month’s closing.
• Assists Accountants with sorting Accounts Payable issues.
• Special projects/other duties and assignments as requested.
