Job summary

Qualifications

• 60 college hours or HS diploma with ParaPro.
• Interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Perform basic computer functions.
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Interest in children and education.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of schools, teachers, students, and classrooms.
• Promote a positive image of the district within the community.
• Comply with all school policies.
• Establish professional relationships with students, parents, and co-workers.
• Motivate, engage, and encourage students.
• Initiate communication with certified staff to support learning and safety.
• Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination and harassment as directed by policy.
• Assist with small groups to reinforce learning introduced by certified staff.
• Assist in devising strategies for reinforcing learning based on student needs.
• Implement IEP accommodations and behavior plans.
• Explain rules, procedures, and routines to students.
• Perform clerical, classroom maintenance, and instructional duties as assigned.
• Participate in in-service trainings and IEP meetings as requested.
