Job summary

Orchard Farm Junior High School is seeking a paraprofessional to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year. The role provides social, physical, and academic support in general and special education settings, including cafeteria, classroom, recess, and assemblies.

Responsibilities include assisting students with disabilities, supporting personal care tasks, supervising activities, and maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 60 credit hours from an accredited college/university or a DESE approved 20-hour substitute certification course.
• Missouri substitute certification preferred.
• Ability to relate to students, staff, and parents in a positive manner.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to use word processing and data entry systems.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to move and supervise students in various settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with disabilities according to individualized needs, including transfers and positioning.
• Assist with physical care including feeding, bathroom needs and personal hygiene.
• Help manage student behavior and keep the teacher informed of special needs or problems.
• Maintain confidentiality of information about children and families.
• Participate in staff development and school events as requested by administration.
• Supervise arrival/departure and support in multiple settings throughout the day.
• Follow directions from teachers and administrators.
