Job summary

The Allegheny Intermediate Unit is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to provide school-based OT services. Role includes evaluating information, implementing therapy, scheduling sessions, and documenting progress in accordance with HIPAA/FERPA and district policy.

Responsibilities involve collaboration with teachers, parents, and other therapists, plus data collection and billing responsibilities. Prior experience in pediatrics and school settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• PA Occupational Therapist Assistant License required.
• OTA degree required or equivalent credential.
• Pediatric school-based experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Attend, participate in, and review information for evaluations and IEP reports.
• Implement services to meet student needs in educational programs.
• Schedule students for occupational therapy services.
• Utilize best practices and materials to deliver therapy services.
• Consult with staff and parents regarding therapy needs and services.
• Maintain student files per department procedures.
• Complete documentation within required timelines.
• Prepare ACCESS billing for eligible students.
• Monitor and document student progress via data collection.
• Submit updates to administration as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA/FERPA compliance and protect student data.
• Demonstrate proficiency with email, Word, Excel, and online IEP systems.
• Inform administration of caseload trends and district needs.
• Collaborate with supervising therapists and team members.
• Attend staff meetings and in-services.
