Job summary

The Harrisburg School District seeks an Occupational Therapist to support disabled students in a classroom setting. You will assess students using a variety of tests, participate in evaluations, and communicate progress to parents and staff, including developing recommendations for services.

You will work closely with teachers to develop and monitor IEPs, collaborating across disciplines, and ensuring compliant delivery of prescribed therapies and accommodations within the HEA framework.

Qualifications

• Valid PA Certificate in Occupational Therapy; at least a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university.
• Knowledge of federal and state Occupational Therapy regulations.
• Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, through a variety of testing procedures, the present functioning level of the child.
• Participate in evaluations and contact parents to advise on functioning level and needs for services.
• Work with teachers to develop IEPs and monitor the child's progress.
