Job summary

Marion P. Thomas Charter School is seeking a dynamic Operations Leader to own school-wide logistics, systems, and events in Newark.

You will guide daily schedules, arrival/dismissal, lunch duties, trips, testing logistics, and campus safety in collaboration with custodial and maintenance teams. You will drive enrollment, attendance compliance, and documentation, while partnering with the Principal on Culture & Climate initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• Strong ownership of outcomes and accountability.
• Strategic thinking with proactive problem-solving for scalable solutions.
• Ability to lead operations from daily schedules to major events.

Responsibilities

• Manage the school-wide calendar and deadlines.
• Co-lead student experiences (spirit days, assemblies, convocations).
• Oversee facilities, safety, and cleanliness with custodial/maintenance teams.
• Coordinate daily lunch duty and cafeteria flow.
• Lead enrollment, attendance compliance, and HIB documentation.
• Design and maintain a strategic school schedule and coverage.
• Plan and execute student trips with logistics and chaperones.
• Onboard new staff to operational systems and expectations.
• Coordinate testing logistics (state, interim, internal).
• Manage time systems and documentation.
• Ensure full enrollment and strong attendance trends.
• Support Culture & Climate initiatives with the Principal.
• Coordinate emergency drills and safety protocols.
• Respond to parent concerns about operations and logistics.
• Administer student surveys and ensure participation.
