Job summary

KIPP Public Schools Northern California is seeking a Business Operations Manager to lead the school’s core business functions including accounting, HR, facilities and technology, while directing front-office operations for families, students and guests.

This role reports to the Director of School Operations and collaborates with regional teams to ensure compliant, financially sound and well-run campuses in both in-person and virtual settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of work experience or 4+ years’ work experience.
• Self-awareness and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Adept at problem solving and decision making, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to self-direct, prioritize and multi-task among competing goals.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others and build relationships across teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in one or more of the languages spoken by the school community (Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite or Google Suite.
• Ability to learn and utilize technology to operate in a virtual office environment (e.g., Zoom).

Responsibilities

• Manages daily office operations.
• Organizes, secures, and maintains a pristine office space and environment for students, staff and families.
• Welcomes and directs prospective and current families and guests warmly and professionally.
• Drafts, translates, and distributes school correspondence and communications.
• Plans and coordinates field trips and school-wide events with teachers and staff.
• Administers basic first aid, distributes medication, and handles health reports and communications.
• Adheres to health and safety guidelines as outlined by public health authorities.
• Oversees school-wide procurement, cash receipts, deposits and budget monitoring.
• Partners with HR to manage payroll, benefits, insurances and staff compliance.
• Assists in hiring and development of non-teaching staff and maintains confidential records.
• Manages substitute coverage and staffing expectations.
• Leads technology management in collaboration with the technology team.
