Qualifications

• Terminal degree in Nursing (DNP or PhD) or health-related field.
• At least 3 years of clinical expertise as a medical-surgical nurse, pediatrics, and/or maternal/child nurse.
• An unencumbered Virginia Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License, or eligibility to obtain upon employment.
• Knowledge of advanced Nursing Practice, healthcare laws, policies, ethics, and economics as they affect patient care and the nursing profession.
• Must have the knowledge and skills to teach didactic and/or clinical courses related to med/surg, critical care, or maternal/child health.

For over 50 years, the School of Nursing has prepared students forinterdisciplinary roles as clinicians, educators, researchers, andadministrators. About the Position:

Faculty contribute to the mission of the School of Nursing throughinnovative and impactful education, research, and service. TheSchool of Nursing - Assistant/Associate Professor serves asteaching-intensive faculty across nursing school curricula,depending upon the area of their expertise and the needs of theschool. Priority consideration is given to individuals with abackground or experience in Med/Surg, Critical Care, orMaternal/Child Health.
