Job summary

Orange County Public Schools is seeking an experienced School Food Service Manager to oversee nutrition operations at the assigned school, ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines. Strong leadership and HACCP knowledge are essential for daily production, service, and supervision of staff.

The role requires ServSafe certification, IPCS screening, and successful completion of the OCPS internship or equivalent evaluation.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Two years or more in school food service or five years in a similar institutional setting.
Completion of OCPS School Food Service Manager Internship or acceptance as substitute manager.
ServSafe certification required.
Essential personnel during emergencies; may be required to stay or be recalled.
IPCS screening required for new hires; existing staff exempt if continuous service.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations for student nutrition programs.
Manage procurement, production records and meal service operations at the assigned school.
Supervise food service assistants and provide coaching and evaluation input to the principal as needed.
Maintain accurate attendance, free and reduced price meal applications and internal reports.
Develop leadership in subordinates and stay current with technology and HACCP practices.
