Jefferson City School District is seeking an Nutrition Services Staff member for our district kitchens in Jefferson City, Missouri. This position supports meal preparation, serving, and general food service tasks in a school setting.

The role requires reliable attendance, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and adherence to HACCP guidelines. You will work with a team to ensure safe, nutritious meals for students in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and communicate in English.
• Accurately count, weigh, and measure.
• Follow instructions and take initiative.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, and lift.
• Lift a minimum of 40 pounds to 33 inches occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Interact with staff, students, faculty, visitors, and coworkers in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Portion foods into appropriate quantities per recipe.
• Prepare foods using standard cutting, chopping, mixing, and slicing techniques.
• Wash pots, pans, and other items using a dish machine or 3-compartment sink.
• Serve and portion foods on serving lines and arrange utensils.
• Monitor food temperatures and report unsafe temperatures.
• Disassemble serving line and clean serving area.
• Discard or store leftovers properly.
