Job summary

Jefferson City School District is seeking a Nutrition Services Assistant Manager to oversee daily food service operations at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Jefferson City, Missouri. This is a full-time role (35-40 hours/week) with a focus on safe, efficient meal preparation and service for students.

The position reports to the Nutrition Services Director and involves inventory, menu adherence, staff supervision, and adherence to health codes while supporting district meal programs.

Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• Experience in preparing a wide variety of food on a quantity basis.
• Competency for assigned responsibilities with previous personnel supervision preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and cater miscellaneous school events.
• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties assigned by the Food Services Director.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas to meet health codes.
• Assign and supervise work of food service staff.
• Attend manager meetings as scheduled.
• Verify and sign invoices of food shipments.
• Store all food and supplies properly upon delivery.
• Assist in determining daily food quantities and proper serving sizes for NSLP/SBP/Afterschool Snack program.
• Assist in food preparation according to menus and assess appearance and taste before serving.
• Conduct inventories of food and supplies.
• Direct daily cleaning of kitchen, cafeteria and equipment; report equipment breakdowns.
• Oversee closing of computers and locking of milk boxes, storeroom and kitchen.
• Report accidents or problems to the Food Service Director.
• Coordinate with building Principal on the food service program and related activities.
• Perform other duties to support the district mission.
