Job summary

Qualifications

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent.
• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Food Handler Certification or the ability to obtain within the first year of employment.
• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: One (1) year of experience in commercial or institutional food service.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities include clear and concise communication, organizational and mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive attitude toward all students and staff.
• Prepare or assist in the preparation of a variety of foods following standardized recipes and menus.
• Set up food serving lines and serve meals, meal components, and beverages.
• Store food and supplies; assist in taking inventories.
• Accept and count money, tickets, or tokens; record transactions; maintain sales accountability.
• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes and utensils; clean counters and tables; mop floors; dispose of wastes properly.
• Operate and clean all kitchen equipment.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Follow safety and sanitation rules when handling food and equipment.
• Assist new Food and Nutrition Service employees or volunteers in assignments.
• Comply with District Food Service training requirements.
