Job summary

Orange County Public Schools seeks an experienced School Food Service Manager to lead operations, ensure compliance with HACCP and USDA guidelines, and supervise staff at a designated school. The role requires a ServSafe credential and OCPS internship or equivalent experience.

As essential personnel, you will coordinate production, procurement, and reporting while maintaining strong communication with principals, district staff, and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years in school food service in OCPS; or five successful years in food service management from another district or institutional setting.
• Successful completion of OCPS School Food Service Manager Internship or successful evaluation as a substitute manager.
• ServSafe certification is required.
• Essential personnel during emergencies; may be required to respond to district locations.
• All new hires must complete IPCS screening.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations in food service operations.
• Procure food and supplies; maintain production records and schedules; ensure accountability.
• Maintain menus aligned with USDA guidelines and nutrition standards.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate school food service assistants; manage staff performance and disciplinary issues.
• Communicate effectively with district staff, parents, and the public; build relationships.
• Stay updated on technology and district policies; attend required trainings.
