Job summary

Orange County Public Schools is seeking a School Food Service Manager to lead the food service team and ensure meals meet federal and state guidelines. You will supervise staff, coordinate with district officials, and manage production records and inventories for school meals.

Ideal candidates have a background in food service management, strong leadership and communication skills, and ability to implement safety practices and regulations across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and ServSafe certification within 60 days of hire.
• Two (2) years as a School Food Service Assistant Lead or three (3) years as a School Food Service Assistant III in OCPS; or five (5) years in a related food service management role.
• Successful completion of OCPS School Food Service Manager Internship within first 3 months.
• IPCS screening required for all new hires.
• Must be able to respond as essential personnel during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision of school food service assistants.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal and local nutrition regulations.
• Maintain accurate production records and reports; manage menus and inventory.
• Develop and maintain relationships with district staff, parents and the public.
• Supervise purchasing of food and supplies; procure necessary items.
• Train staff in food preparation, sanitation and safety practices.
• Ensure timely and accurate shift communications to FNS administrator.
• Maintain attendance records and assist with disciplinary issues as needed.
