Job summary

The Nutrition Service Worker in Granite School District supports school meal preparation and service at Morningside Elementary, working with heated equipment, following recipes, and ensuring food safety. This is a highly physical role requiring standing, lifting, and frequent movement in a busy kitchen.

You will assist with dishwashing, inventory, cashiering as needed, and may be assigned to other kitchens district-wide.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires a Utah recognized Food Handler's permit.
• Must be able to perform physical duties in a busy kitchen.
• Ability to follow recipes and safety protocols precisely.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, heats, and portions food using standardized recipes and instructions.
• Operates commercial kitchen equipment including ovens, warmers, mixers, and slicers.
• Serves meals to students, staff, and faculty with attention to portion size and nutrition guidelines.
• Follows food safety and hygiene practices, including temperature logs and proper storage.
• Maintains cleanliness of food preparation, serving, and dishwashing areas.
• Receives and rotates deliveries and assists with inventory.
