Washburn Elementary School Nutrition Program is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to help prepare and serve meals, maintaining high sanitation standards and following menus. The role supports daily operations in a fast-paced school kitchen and requires basic computer skills for logging records.

The position is part-time with scheduled hours, offering holidays and sick leave benefits, and requires CHRC fingerprinting and compliance with state nutrition guidelines.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Criminal History Record check (CHRC) through the Department of Education.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and safety training.
• Understanding of basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing daily school meals on time and per menu.
• Maintain high safety and cleanliness standards following sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with temperature logs and cleaning schedules for equipment and space.
• Support production records to ensure nutritional compliance.
• Receive shipments and store items properly.
• Work as part of a team to provide great customer service.
