Job summary

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in school/commercial food service.
• Meets (or is eligible for) USDA and NH credentials for School Food Service Director.
• Experience focused on nutrition, dietetics, food service management, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage meal and snack preparation and serving, including monthly menu distribution.
• Inspect food, facilities, and operations to ensure safety, cleanliness, and health standards; report needs to administrators.
• Manage the food service budget including purchasing and charging for meals via digital systems.
• Coordinate with administrators to access federal grants and subsidies and support free/reduced meal applications.
• Supervise recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of food service staff; manage time records.
• Maintain inventory and secure storage of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Prepare forms and reports for USDA, NH Dept of Education, and SAU9 as needed.
• Lead wellness initiatives and participate in relevant groups to improve nutrition in the school community.
