Menahga Public Schools is seeking a Food Service Bookkeeper to support our school nutrition program and lead daily operations while ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements. The role involves managing POS systems, coordinating staff training, and maintaining accurate records for nutrition programs.

Qualifications

• Experience with school nutrition programs and meal pattern requirements.
• Experience with POS systems and record-keeping.
• Ability to train and support staff in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Grant writing experience preferred, or willingness to be trained.
• ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within designated time frame.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the POS system.
• Train POS staff and ensure consistent POS procedures.
• Provide ongoing training for kitchen staff.
• Maintain records of staff training and required certifications.
• Grant writing and grant implementation related to food service programs.
• Ensure accurate recipe documentation and meal component compliance.
• Support community, staff, and student education related to School Nutrition Programs.
• Process and submit monthly meal claims in compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal food service regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
