Job summary

Rivermont Schools is seeking a School Nurse (LPN/RN) to support student health and wellness during the school day. You will provide basic nursing care, administer medications, and monitor health needs under the direction of a Certified School Nurse or physician.

The role requires a Virginia RN or LPN license, at least two years of pediatric nursing experience, and strong communication and collaboration skills. A valid Virginia driver’s license is also needed.

Qualifications

• Current Virginia license as RN or LPN.
• Minimum two years of experience nursing children.
• Knowledge of medical disorders, treatment procedures, medication administration, and infection control.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local school health regulations.
• Strong communication, documentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with students, families, staff, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Valid Virginia driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care, first aid, and health support to students during the school day.
• Administer medications and document care according to physician orders and school policies.
• Monitor students with chronic conditions and report changes in health status to the Certified School Nurse.
• Support staff with student health needs and communicate effectively with families when appropriate.
• Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant health office environment.
