Formación

• Possession of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Virginia.
• At least one year of supervised nursing experience in community or child health.
• Work toward certification in school nursing, community health/public health nursing preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide health care services to students and staff.
• Plan the school health program in cooperation with medical authority.
• Assess injuries and illnesses; administer first aid and treat minor injuries.
• Document all data pertinent to student health and maintain records.

Conocimientos

Knowledge of nursing processes and practices

Ability to perform effectively in emergencies

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public

Educación

Bachelor’s degree in nursing or public health nursing
