Qualifications

• Current Virginia license as an RN or LPN.
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience with children.
• Knowledge of medical disorders, treatment procedures, infection control.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local school health regulations.
• Strong communication, documentation, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with students, families, staff and the health team.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care, first aid, and health support to students during the school day.
• Administer medications and document care according to physician orders and school policies.
• Monitor students with chronic conditions and report changes in health status to the Certified School Nurse.
• Support staff with student health needs and communicate effectively with families when appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant health office environment.

As a School Nurse (LPN/RN) at Rivermont Schools, you will support student health and wellness by providing compassionate, high-quality care throughout the school day. Your calm, caring presence will help ensure students can focus on learning in a safe, supportive environment.

What You’ll Need

• Current Virginia license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

• Minimum of two years of experience providing nursing services to children

• Knowledge of medical disorders, treatment procedures, medication administration, and infection control

• Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to school health services

• Strong communication, documentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills

• Ability to collaborate with students, families, staff, and multidisciplinary team members

• Valid Virginia driver's license
