The Springfield Public Schools in Massachusetts are seeking a School Nurse (RN) to provide direct and indirect nursing care to students, enhance wellbeing, and support academic success. You will collaborate with the principal and nursing supervisor, manage health records, administer medications with consent, and coordinate with families and health providers.

The ideal candidate holds MA RN licensure, CPR certification, and DOE certification eligibility (BSN preferred).

Qualifikationen

• Current valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
• 1–2 years in child health or related field; 3 years in school nursing preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• DOE certification eligibility in educator category, Nurse, All Levels (BSN required).

Aufgaben

• Assess and counsel students, parents and staff about health problems.
• Maintain health records and evaluate school health programs.
• Coordinate health resources with families and health agencies.
• Develop individual health care plans and coordinate care with providers.
• Provide emergency care on school premises.
• Administer medications with parent/guardian and physician consent.
• Conduct mandated screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis, height/weight) as appropriate.
• Document information in student records per HIPAA/FERPA.
