Job summary

Springfield Public Schools is seeking a School Nurse (RN) to provide direct and indirect health services to students, coordinate care, administer medications with consent, and support health education across the district.

The ideal candidate holds MA RN license, CPR certification, DOE certification eligibility or certification, and has experience in school or child health. This full-time role reports to Nursing Administration and offers a salary per the School Nurse Salary Schedule.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current valid RN license in Massachusetts.
• CPR certification required.
• DOE certification eligibility for educator category (Nurse) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to students.
• Maintain health records and coordinate health resources.
• Administer medications with parent/guardian and physician consent.
• Develop individual health care plans and coordinate with providers.
• Conduct mandated screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis, height/weight).
• Provide emergency care and conduct home visits as needed.
• Prepare reports and notify stakeholders of health concerns.
