Milton Hershey School (MHS) is seeking a part-time Weekend Registered Nurse (RN) to provide acute and comprehensive health care for pre-K through 12th grade students. The role operates in a 24/7/365 on-campus health center, including a 40-bed infirmary and three clinics.

The position offers weekend night shifts (Friday and Saturday, 7:00 pm–7:00 am) up to 29 hours per week, with potential for an extra 4 hours as needed.

Qualifications

• PA RN license required; bachelor’s in nursing preferred.
• Minimum of two years nursing experience including pediatric, school health or emergency nursing.
• Valid PA driver’s license in good standing; CPR and advanced first aid training.
• School Nurse Certification a plus; ability to engage with students beyond job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Thanks to the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey in 1909, the school is fully endowed today, with the resources to ensure students can thrive. The school has prepared over 12,000 graduates to lead fulfilling and productive lives and is expanding to serve more students.

MHS is seeking a part‑time 10-month* Weekend Registered School Nurse (RN) to provide acute and comprehensive health care to students from pre-K to 12th grade. The unique and child‑centered structure of MHS’s Health Services programs enables nurses to focus where their heart is — on student/patient care. We have on campus a 24/7/365 health center facility with 40-bed infirmary and 3 school medical clinics with state-of-the art equipment. At MHS, we seek to educate the whole child.

The current available shift is weekend night Friday and Saturday from 7:00 pm — 7:00 am at the health center (up to 29 hours per week). Option to pick up additional 4 hours/week as staffing needs arise. * 10-M schedule: August through May. The RNs are represented by Milton Hershey Education Association (MHEA). Salary range: $37.90 – $50.59 per hour (plus 15% shift differential) commensurate with experience. Qualifications

• PA Registered Nurse License required, bachelor’s degree in nursing, preferred
• Minimum of two years nursing experience, physical assessment, primary pediatric, school health and/or emergency nursing, and counseling skills
• Valid license to practice as a registered nurse in PA
• Valid PA Driver’s license, in good standing
• Ability and willingness to be flexible regarding the work schedule is essential
• Current CPR certification and advanced first aid training
• School Nurse Certification a plus
• Candidates must demonstrate a high level of integrity, as all MHS Staff are role models for the MHS Students
• Candidates must be willing to actively engage with MHS students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
