Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA is seeking a weekend Registered Nurse (RN) to provide acute and comprehensive health care for students from pre-K to 12th grade. The position is part-time, 10-month schedule with a Friday-Saturday night shift from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am at the on-campus health center.

Up to 29 hours per week with potential to add 4 more hours as staffing allows. Qualified applicants will hold a PA RN license, a BSN preferred, at least two years of pediatric or school health

MHS is seeking a part-time 10-month* Weekend Registered School Nurse (RN) to provide acute and comprehensive health care to students from pre-K to 12th grade. The unique and child-centered structure of MHS’s Health Services programs enables nurses to focus where their heart is – on student/patient care. We have on campus a 24/7/365 health center facility with 40-bed infirmary and 3 school medical clinics with state-of-the art equipment. At MHS, we seek to educate the whole child.

The current available shift is weekend night Friday and Saturday from 7:00 pm – 7:00 am at the health center (up to 29 hours per week). Option to pick up additional 4 hours/week as staffing needs arise. * 10-M schedule: August through May. The RNs are represented by Milton Hershey Education Association (MHEA). Salary range: $37.90 - $50.59 per hour (plus 15% shift differential) commensurate with experience. Part-time employees are eligible for a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program (EAP), free lunches when on duty, and Hershey area discounts.

Qualifications:

• PA Registered Nurse License required, bachelor’s degree in nursing, preferred
• Minimum of two years nursing experience, physical assessment, primary pediatric, school health and/or emergency nursing, and counseling skills
• Valid license to practice as a registered nurse in PA
• Valid PA Driver's license, in good standing
• Ability and willingness to be flexible regarding the work schedule is essential
• Current CPR certification and advanced first aid training
• Candidates must demonstrate a high level of integrity, as all MHS Staff are role models for the MHS Students
• Candidates must be willing to actively engage with MHS students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
