The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a contracted, school-based placement in New Bedford, MA for the 26/27 school year. This full-time role supports a local K-12 district with private duty/1:1 nursing services.

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Massachusetts.
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification.
• Demonstrated competency in tube feedings, pediatric diabetes care, oxygen/airway management, medications, and critical thinking.
• Ability to work independently in a non-clinical environment.
• Experience with pediatric population; prior school-based experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation of the assigned student throughout the school day.
• Implement and monitor student health plans.
• Accompany student during transportation and community activities when assigned.
• Communicate significant status changes to family, school staff, and clinical leadership.
• Provide first aid, daily medical care, and emergency support.
• Maintain student confidentiality under FERPA and HIPAA.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Active RN license valid in Massachusetts
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student including:
  • Tube feedings
  • Pediatric diabetic care
  • Oxygen and airway management
  • Medication administration
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently in a non-clinical environment
• Experience working with Pediatric population

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families, therapists, and healthcare providers
• Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Prior school-based experience highly preferred
