The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Dallas, OR for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time Building Nurse role supporting a local K-12 district with nursing services.

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Oregon.
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification.
• Knowledge of nurse delegation practices and state scope-of-practice regulations.
• Ability to work independently and exercise clinical judgment.
• Experience working with a pediatric population.
• Pediatric skillset, Pediatric diabetic care, Medication administration, strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Preferred: School-based nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and manage everyday illnesses (headaches, stomachaches, injuries).
• Monitor students with chronic conditions and administer medications per orders.
• Verify medical orders and document medication administration.
• Lead medical emergencies on campus as needed.
• Train staff on emergency protocols and equipment use.
• Develop and update IHPs/IEPs/504 Plans related to medical conditions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Active RN license valid in Oregon
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• Knowledge of nurse delegation practices and state scope-of-practice regulations
• Ability to work independently and exercise clinical judgment
• Experience working with a pediatric population
• Required Experience: Pediatric skillset, Pediatric diabetic care, Medication administration, strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Preferred: School-based nursing experience

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide first aid and manage everyday illnesses (headaches, stomachaches, injuries)
• Monitor students with chronic conditions (asthma, diabetes, seizures, allergies, mental health conditions) and implement routine and PRN medications and care per orders
• Verify medical orders, document medication administration, and safely administer routine and PRN medications
• Act as the lead responder to medical emergencies on campus
• Train staff on emergency protocols and equipment use
• Develop and update IHPs (Individualized Healthcare Plans), IEPs (Individualized Education Plans), and 504 Plans related to medical conditions; participate in meetings as needed
• Collaborate with parents and school staff regarding students with medical needs
• Conduct or assist with health screenings (vision, hearing, growth/BMI, blood pressure)
• Delegate and supervise nursing tasks in accordance with state regulations
