Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Birmingham, AL for the 26/27 school year. This full-time role supports a local K-12 district with private duty/1:1 nursing services.

You'll work with a supportive clinical team, receive ongoing supervision from experienced nurses, and help students stay healthy and ready to learn in a classroom setting. The position offers competitive pay, benefits, and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Alabama.
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification.
• Experience with pediatric populations and seizure management.
• Ability to work independently in a non-clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation of the assigned student during the school day.
• Implement and monitor student health plans.
• Accompany student during transport and community activities.
• Communicate significant status changes to family, school staff, and clinical leadership.
• Provide first aid, daily medical care, and emergency support.
• Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and HIPAA requirements.

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Birmingham, AL for the 26/27 school year. This is a full-time position supporting a local K-12 district with private duty/1:1 nursing services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Active RN license valid in Alabama
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student including:
  • Seizure management - competent with seizure action plans and rescue medications
  • Med Pass
  • Experience working with Pediatric population
• Ability to work independently in a non-clinical environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families, therapists, and healthcare providers
• Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Prior school-based experience highly preferred
