Job summary

Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (CSDB) is seeking a part-time Nurse I for Student Health Services. You will administer medications, prepare health plans, and support IEPs while tailoring care for Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or visually impaired students.

The role requires ASL proficiency or willingness to achieve it, Colorado RN licensure, and eligibility for School Nurse endorsement within three years. 0.6 FTE with on-site campus duties.

Qualifications

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) at Level 2+ or willing to attain.
• RN license in good standing (Colorado or eNLC state).
• Eligible for Special Services Provider licensure with School Nurse endorsement within 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Assess illness/injury and develop action plans.
• Maintain accurate health documentation and IEP health sections.
• Delegate tasks to unlicensed staff with training and oversight.
• Coordinate emergency care and on-campus transport as needed.
• Educate students, families, and staff on health topics and safety.
