Job summary

Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (CSDB) is seeking a part-time ASL interpreter to provide high-quality interpreting services for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students and staff across educational settings.

Assignments include classroom instruction, IEP meetings, staff meetings, trainings, and other school activities. Requires RID/NIC certification and a minimum 5 years of interpreting experience in professional settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with formal interpreter training.
• RID Certification or NIC.
• Five years of diverse professional interpreting experience (excluding educational interpreting).
• ASL proficiency at Advanced Plus (Level 4) or higher.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality ASL interpreting services for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind students and staff.
• Interpret in classroom instruction, IEP meetings, staff meetings, trainings, student activities, field trips, and school events.
• Follow RID Code of Professional Conduct and CSDB Deaf-centered philosophy.
• Work with Deaf colleagues and other interpreting professionals to ensure equitable communication access.
