Roosevelt High in Des Moines Public Schools is seeking a qualified School Nurse for the 26-27 school year. The nurse will support student health, coordinate services, and work with staff to ensure safe, healthy learning environments.

Starting immediately, this full-time position requires an Iowa RN license, CPR, and a valid driver’s license, with preferred experience in pediatric or public health nursing. Collaboration with families and providers is essential.

Qualifications

• Iowa Registered Nurse License is required.
• CPR Certification required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Nursing experience in a clinical setting is required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred and may be considered for advanced roles.
• Experience in pediatric or public health nursing is desired.
• Strong communication skills—oral and written.

Responsabilités

• Support emotional and physical wellness to aid academic achievement.
• Coordinate health services and accommodations for students with health needs.
• Assist with school health instruction and safety programs.
• Manage medication administration and health screenings.
• Collaborate with families and community health providers to meet students' needs.
• Maintain health records and report to Health Services.
