Job summary

Y.A.L.E. School NJ is seeking a School Nurse to provide medical care to students within a safe, supportive school climate and to collaborate with staff and parents. The role requires following state mandated reporting for visits, physicals, medication dispensation, and attendance.

School nurses work 10 months (Sept 1–June 30) and six weeks in the summer, supporting students aged 3 to 21 with diverse disabilities across New Jersey counties served by Y.A.L.E. School.

Qualifications

• Current NJ certification as a School Nurse.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong energy and interpersonal skills to relate with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.

Job Description

The School Nurse at Y.A.L.E. School assumes the professional responsibility for providing medical care to students in a safe, supportive and positive school climate. Achieving excellence requires that the School Nurse work collaboratively with other members of the school staff and with parents.

The School Nurse is also responsible for following state mandated reporting requirements regarding office visits, physicals, dispensation of medicine, and student attendance.

School nurses are required to work 10 months (Sept 1-June 30) and six weeks in the summer.
