Job summary

Y.A.L.E. School NJ is seeking a School Nurse to provide medical care to students within a safe, supportive school climate and to collaborate with staff and parents. The role requires following state mandated reporting for visits, physicals, medication dispensation, and attendance.

School nurses work 10 months (Sept 1–June 30) and six weeks in the summer, supporting students aged 3 to 21 with diverse disabilities across New Jersey counties served by Y.A.L.E. School.

Qualifications

• Current NJ certification as a School Nurse.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong energy and interpersonal skills to relate with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to students in a safe, supportive school climate.
• Collaborate with school staff and with parents.
• Follow state mandated reporting for office visits, physicals, dispensation of medicine, and student attendance.
• School nurses work 10 months (Sept 1–June 30) and six weeks in the summer.
