Job summary

Camas School District is seeking a Library Media Assistant to support students and staff in the media center, under the guidance of the Teacher Librarian. Your role includes processing materials, shelving, and assisting with technology setups.

The position emphasizes reliability, confidentiality, and strong communication, with duties spanning inventory, repairs, and event support.

This role helps maintain a welcoming, orderly media center across 190 school days per year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; AA/AS degree or some college preferred.
• Knowledge of technology including Mac and PC use, audio-visual equipment, and related tech.
• Experience and/or knowledge working in a media center.
• Experience and/or knowledge conducting information research.
• Experience working with children, preferably in a middle or high school setting.
• Acquire and maintain first aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist students and staff in the media center.
• Receive and process media materials.
• Maintain files and records as needed.
• Perform basic book repairs and route damaged books for bindery.
• Maintain inventory and reports for the center.
• Maintain reserve shelves.
• Set up and operate media center technology.
• Support center setup for events or other departments.
• Provide student supervision as needed.
• Other related duties to support the media center, school, and district.
