Job summary

Bay City Public Schools is seeking a Food Service Technician at Kolb to assist in the preparation, serving, and transportation of nutritious meals for students, in a clean and pleasant atmosphere. The position involves maintaining sanitation and keeping production records as required.

Starting at $15.53/hr, hours are 5.75 per day, three days per week plus 1.5 hours for the Fruit/Vegetable program. A high school diploma or GED and a valid Michigan driver's license are required; prior large-scale

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food service operation including, but not limited to, food preparation, dietary standards, and record-keeping.
• Valid Michigan Driver's License and good personal driving record required.
• Meets Required Training Standards for School Nutrition Program Staff.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to communicate well with others, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Produces daily production information as applicable to duties assigned.
• Portion meals to students in a quick and pleasant manner.
• Transport and serve food between the production site and satellite buildings as needed.
• Maintain sanitation standards at production site and satellites.
• Assist with quantity food preparation and assembly for the position.
• Assist with daily cleaning of satellite kitchens, production site, and equipment to ensure cleanliness.
• Set up and break down service lines at assigned site.
• Record and maintain monthly inventory of food and supplies.
• Assist supervisor in ordering food and supplies for production site and satellites.
