Portage Township Schools in Portage, IN, is seeking a Food Service Assistant-Class B for the 7:30am–1:00pm shift. You will assist with food preparation, inventory, and cash handling using the school’s POS system, while providing friendly service to students and staff.

The role requires basic math, strong communication, and a commitment to safety and sanitation. Training includes food handling certification; you’ll work in a fast-paced kitchen, learn new skills, and support school meal programs

Responsabilités

• Assist with food preparation, production, planning, ordering, inventory and record keeping.
• Handle cash and operate the point-of-sale system; compute and report daily and monthly figures.
• Interact positively with students, faculty, and parents.
• Perform kitchen duties including washing dishes and operating equipment.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards at all times.
• Attend trainings and apply safety policies.
• Assist with meal promotions and cross-training as needed.
