Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Food Service Specialist to ensure meals are prepared, portioned, and served to students in a timely, safe manner. You will handle fruit and vegetable prep, follow recipes, monitor students during meals, maintain kitchen sanitation, and assist with cleaning tasks to support a smooth daily operation.

The role requires physical activity and teamwork in a busy lunchroom environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma Preferred but Not Required.
• Experience: 1+ years in a job with physical activity and being on your feet for long periods.
• License: Food Handler's Permit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cook, portion, and serve appropriate quantities of food to IDEA students.
• Cut/chop fruits and vegetables; follow recipes and kitchen processes.
• Monitor students during meals and encourage healthy eating.
• Kitchen cleaning duties: sweeping, mopping, wiping tables, washing dishes, trash disposal.
