Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Food Service Specialist to support on-site meal operations for students. You will assist with food preparation, serve meals, stock supplies, and maintain clean kitchens while following safety and nutrition standards.

This full-time position requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance, and a commitment to a positive meal experience for families.

Qualifications

• 1+ years work experience in a physically active role.
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds solo and up to 50 pounds with a partner.
• Able to obtain a locally-recognized manager food safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, safety, and quality assurance for students.
• Provide customer service and interact with staff, students, and families daily.
• Operate food service equipment and maintain spaces; report malfunctions to Cafeteria Manager.
• Carry out cleaning duties: sweeping, mopping, wiping tables, washing dishes, and trash disposal.
• Load and unload food and non-food products weekly.
