Porter-Leath in Memphis seeks a Food Service Worker to provide nutritious home-style meals for children, maintain the kitchen, and manage basic inventory in a Head Start setting.

Under the Food & Nutrition Supervisor, you will follow USDA guidelines, prepare meals for various dietary needs, keep logs, and collaborate with staff to ensure a safe, clean dining environment for families and students.

Qualifications

• HSD or GED required.
• Two years of school-based or HS cooking experience required.

Responsabilités

• Prepares and serves meals according to menu and dietary needs.
• Maintains kitchen inventory and equipment.
• Completes food and kitchen supply ordering within budget and timelines.
• Reports kitchen information to supervising bodies.
• Ensures health department and Porter-Leath requirements for cleanliness and storage.
• Maintains kitchen area cleanliness and related records.
• Works with staff to create a safe environment for children and families.
• Completes monthly reporting to authorities.
• Collaborates with teachers and staff in student education.
