Job summary

Broward County Public Schools in Ft. Lauderdale, FL is seeking a School Site Repairperson to perform semi-skilled maintenance across air conditioning, plumbing, carpentry, grounds, and related areas.

You will conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs, following instructions from administration and maintaining proper records. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3 years of relevant experience, and the ability to use hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• Standard high school diploma or GED completion.
• Three (3) years recent repair/maintenance experience with Broward County Public Schools.
• General knowledge of minor maintenance and repairs to buildings, equipment and grounds.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance and its importance.
• Ability to use power and hand tools for various trades.
• Ability to work safely from ladders and follow safety practices.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and take responsibility.
• Must provide own hand tools.
• Completion of the Professional and Master Facilities Service training programs and certification prior to applying.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Receive written or oral maintenance instructions from the principal or designee.
• Use tools and equipment properly and observe safety practices.
• Report work beyond capabilities to the supervisor.
• Order materials through proper channels.
• Keep records and reports on work assignments.
• Perform duties across air conditioning, carpentry, grounds, and electrical tasks as specified.
