Job summary

Lee County Schools - AL Smiths Station High School in Smiths Station, Alabama is seeking a Lunchroom Worker for a 184-day schedule (6 hours per day) to help serve nutritious meals and maintain a clean, friendly dining area.

Qualifications

• Must comply with all employment criteria legally established by the Lee County Board of Education.
• Prior experience in a cafeteria preferred.
• The ability to read and follow instructions.
• Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of the assigned task.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.
• Serve students and staff from the cafeteria counter.
• Operate cash register.
• Assume responsibility for ensuring that during meal service periods the supply of food offered is replenished regularly.
• Maintain the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.
• Perform related duties as required including duties at special meal functions.
